About Chestnut Farm
Chestnut Farm Holiday Park is a family run business, dating back over 120 years. The original farmhouse was built in the 16th century, with its first caravan on the land recorded in 1899. Making Chestnut Farm one of, if not, the oldest caravan park in Britain.
After several generations of the Smith and Dearlove family welcoming caravan visitors to Chestnut Farm, the farm buildings were sensitively restored into six holiday cottages in 2000. The park continues to evolve and develop, with new contemporary residential lodges launching at Chestnut Farm in 2020, for more information click here.
Our country village dates back to first century AD, when the Romans sailed up the River Ouse to Eboracum (York), with Acaster Malbis as one of the first landing points. All these years later, the village has remained in a quiet, rural setting, with the Ouse running through its heart. With peaceful woodland, open farmland and picturesque cottages, Acaster Malbis remains one of York’s most beautiful villages.
